Internal displacement crisis

Sudan's RSF grew out of the Janjaweed, blamed for the Darfur genocide.

The Rapid Support Forces were formalized in 2013 by President al-Bashir from Janjaweed militias accused of mass atrocities in Darfur after 2003 — a conflict that killed an estimated 300,000 people.
