Crew-13 is Luke Delaney's very first spaceflight mission!
A Marine Corps F/A-18 test pilot, Delaney was selected in NASA's 2021 astronaut class β the Artemis generation. Crew-13 to the ISS marks his debut in orbit after years of flight test and astronaut training.
The ISS will be deorbited by 2030, ending 30+ years of spacewalks.
NASA plans to crash the ISS into the ocean around 2030. Future spacewalks will move to commercial successors β Axiom Space, Voyager's Starlab, and Blue Origin's Orbital Reef β already under NASA contract.
