Hawaii's DPAA lab is the world's largest forensic ID operation for MIAs.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency lab in Hawaii uses DNA, dental records, and isotope analysis to identify fallen service members — sometimes from remains recovered decades after combat. It has identified over 1,000 missing since 2015.

The Air Force Academy opened in 1955 & graduated its 1st class in 1959.

Located in Colorado Springs, CO, the Academy admitted 306 cadets in its first class. Early graduates served in Vietnam, making the POW/MIA crisis deeply personal for Academy families across generations.
