QOTD #00100: “Which cult classic deserves a reboot?”

“I would say that the Little Mermaid deserves a reboot. The songs in Little Mermaid are fantastic, and I love to see a live action version of having everything under the water.”

“Um, I don't know if any of you guys saw that movie Dredd with Karl Urban from like 2013? 2011? But it was like- it was a reboot of a previous Dredd movie, Judge Dredd, um, that was really good. And it was really good. I don't know if I want a reboot of it. I want a sequel with Karl Urban because like that- it was, it was so good. It was like that movie redaid- The Raid: Redemption, which is another cult movie I wish would have more sequels, but um... yeah, that movie... if not a sequel a reboot because, I mean, I think that's just a cool idea that deserves to be be seen, 'cause that movie, I think it lost like $6 billion, but it was good! It had good reviews! People liked it. It was cool. It was, yeah. That.”

Like, there are so many incredible new ideas out there that we just need to give a chance to. And there's so many amazing cult classic movies and shows that like should just be left as they are, because they mean something... they're like special in that moment, you know? “A cult classic that deserves a reboot is something like Monster House. It actually came out, I think like, the year I was born, but I used to watch it like all the time as a - as a kid. I pretty much watched like a bunch of stuff just over and over again as a kid, because, you know, dumb kid brain, but like I think it at least really needs a sequel, because I think it will be interesting to see how it would, uh, reflect culture in society today and see where it goes from there. I'm not sure how a sequel would work but I think it would be very interesting.”

“Which cult classic deserves a reboot? Now, this is a hard one, but the first thing that comes to my mind would be Star Trek. Um, you know, it's a show that I've seen a little bit of, I haven't seen a ton, but it's you know, super popular with the older generation. It's, uh- and by older generational, people older than me- and you know, it really is a classic, but, you know, I never got into it because of, you know, the bad graphics. Um, and, you know, I feel like a reboot would be better for everybody. Shoot it in 4K. Ah, get the younger generation involved. Bring back some nostalgia for the younger generation. It would really be win-win. Plus, we're at the time where some of the actors are starting to pass away, so it's a great time to reboot, and remind people of the greatness of Star Trek. I just saw, I think, a couple of weeks ago that one of the lead actor or actresses had passed and I think that the reboot would, you know, really just allowed for recelebration of the show's accomplishments and their lives.”

Sadly, the reboot probably will never happen, but, generation after generation, this movie applies to everyone, and it needs a reboot.”
