QOTD #00014: “Pick anyone living or dead to cook with for 2 hours. Who is it, and what are you making?”

“I would have to say, I would really like Ina Garten. Um, I think we would make great cocktails together, and I think it would just be a lot of fun. She's hilarious, and I love her popped collars.”

“Hands down, I would spend my two hours with my mom. She passed away 10 years ago but was a wonderful cook and baker, especially, and I have a giant sweet tooth. So, making things from her recipe book, um, albeit not as well as she did, bring me back to my childhood and really good memories with her. So that would be just an incredible two hours.”

“I would really have to say my grandmother, and we would probably be cooking fried chicken and some red beans and rice with a side of cornbread, and yeah, some andouille sausage. Oh, I can just picture it now.”

“So, I would choose Gordon Ramsay because he's from Scotland like I am, and it would definitely be a steak and French fries. It's got to be that.”

“I think the person I would most like to cook with would be Meryl Streep, for obvious reasons. And I don't know if she's a good cook but, wouldn't she be? I mean, she's great at everything. She's probably an amazing cook. And we would make croissant - 'croissants' because they take a really long time, and I could trick her into hanging out with me for longer. See? Wisdom.”

“One person that I would spend my day or my two hours in the kitchen with would be my grandfather. He passed away about 22 years ago this year, and he made the best red pea soup. I'm from the Virgin Islands, so Caribbean dishes, anything, would be amazing, just to have that time with him again.”

“I would be cooking breakfast with my grandpa, who's passed away. He was my favorite person and taught me that breakfast can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner and is the best meal of the day. And so, I would love to be around his kitchen table in overalls, cooking breakfast together.”

“So, when my family came to the United States, uh, my grandma had previously had a very sheltered life. But when she came to America, she ended up having to basically start over. So if I could cook with anybody for two hours, it would be her.”

“So, if I'm cooking with someone, I'll choose Leonardo da Vinci. I think he is an amazing artist. He will give me huge exposure towards cooking, so I might enjoy cooking, although I do not enjoy cooking. I can only make baked macaroni, maybe.”

“Um, I would probably spend it with my grandma. She died of cancer and, um, you know, I'd probably cook chicken noodle soup because I used to love eating that as a kid. So yeah.”

“Uh, if I had to pick someone to, like, cook with for two hours, I'd probably pick Gordon Ramsay just because I think it'd be funny to, like, have him kinda critique me while I'm cooking, and I think he would give me good feedback. I mean, it might be aggressive, but I think I would enjoy the time with him.”

“I'm spending the two hours with Tupac, and we're making spaghetti and meatballs.”

“Whooh, this is a good one. Out of the gate, I'm gonna throw you a curveball and say Victor DeNoble. He was the chief scientist for Philip Morris and Marlboro cigarettes and was tasked with making a more addictive cigarette. And, uh, I just have this, like, sneaky suspicion that he can make a taco like nobody else can. I'm not sure why, but, like, something tells me he's got a corner on the market of something incredible tasting with the taco, and I have to talk to him about it. I don't know. I just think Victor DeNoble.”

“I think it's Jesus, and I think we're making fish, bread, and wine, uh, 'cuz I don't have to bring very much to this. And then, when're you ever gonna get a chance to see that again?”
