QOTD #00120: “What's a turn-off for you on a first date?”

“Oh, something that somebody would say on the first date that would be a turn-off or do. Um, so probably my biggest or probably, my worst turn-off would be smoking. Um, don't smoke around me. That would, that would be my biggest one. Yeah.”

“I would say it would be a big turn-off if someone were to ask me how many kids I want to have. I mean, even if I liked somebody, even if they were hot, even if I was firing on all cylinders with them, that's something I really don't want to hear on a first date. Um, it makes everything awkward. And I can put up with just about anything conversationally, but that would put the brakes on everything. Yeah. Big turn-off. We'll settle the kids thing later.”

“Well, first of all, I don't go on very many dates anymore. Okay? Let's get that out of the way. But when I did do the dating thing, a turn-off for me would be nervousness, which I guess is natural, but unnatural nervousness or if a person's so thoroughly self-conscious that they just can't seem to do anything right? That's kind of a pill.”

“Okay, so if they pick me up and their car and/or apartment is really dirty, it's a big turn-off. If they have really obnoxious bumper stickers on their car, that's a turn-off. If they only want to eat like chicken nuggets and French fries, that's a turn-off. If they spend the entire time talking about themselves and don't try and ask me about my life or engage in, like, actual conversation, it's a huge turn-off.”

“The biggest turn-off for me if I'm on a date with someone is if we're at like a fancy restaurant, or even just the local McDonald's, or if we're at the movies or whatever, and the person that I'm on the date with insults the workers, that is a huge turn-off. Giant red flag for me. Because I feel like if you're disrespecting people just for doing their work, then that doesn't really say much about you as a decent person. So, yeah, that is a huge turn-off for me.”

“It really depends on what kind of date it was. But if we're going with the pretty simple generic, you know, dinner date, probably the biggest turn-off would be choosing to order a bunch or the most expensive things and then or ordering a bunch of drinks or just running the tab up. And then if you run it up, expecting the other person to pay. Sort of regardless of which position you're in, you shouldn't do that to people. And if my date did that, wouldn't be a second, tell you that.”

“Oh, my gosh. This one is so easy. You go on the first date, and you go somewhere and eat and if they're [chews] making, like, those eating noises with their mouth open, instant turn-off. Instant. So always make sure you're at the restaurant and you'll know.”

“A turn-off for me on the first date would definitely be having smelly breath. Smell is something that, it just does something to me psychologically. It just, it puts you in a different state of mind with somebody when their breath smells. It's like, you know, ugh.”
