QOTD #00078: “Has an animal ever saved your life? Tell us about it!”

“You know, I don't actually think that an animal has saved my life. Um, I won't say that my dog has ever definitely saved my life, but for their sake, um, maybe one day there was a man walking past our house and he was maybe going to murder us, but my dogs barked enough so that scared him away. So, give that to my dogs. Benefit of the doubt.”

“Well, to be honest and to think about it, there are no times in my life where I have been saved by an animal, or I haven't been in any tragic accidents or whatsoever before.”

“Has an animal ever saved my life? Not directly, but I will say this: especially cats - kittens more so - They save your life in the sense that they make you a lot happier. I remember before I got my two little fur babies, my two little cats, I used to be very depressed, very angry, and that with these little critters running around, I'm as happy as can be.”

“An animal hasn't saved my life, but they definitely have made my life better. I'm a vegetarian for the last seven years, um, and I'm mad about animals in general. But also a dog did come into my life while I was having a very rough time. I was diagnosed with anxiety, and my dog kinda acted - without knowing to, I guess, but kind of like a support dog. He'd follow me to the bus every morning for school, and he'd wait at the bus stop every evening to pick me up. Yeah, he was- he was great.”

“Yes, an animal has saved my life. My dog, Jaime. I got home late one day, and then we were walking- I was walking home with Jaime. All of a sudden, she started barking and was gesturing to a particular area. Turning back then, I saw some people wearing masks, and they were armed. I did not see it if not for Jaime. Thank you.”

“Has an animal ever saved my life? I don't think so. I've had weird encounters with animals. So, I encountered a wolf once in my backyard, and I pet it and he didn't kill me. So, I thought it was a dog. I thought it was a dog at the time until it came into the light, and then I was like, "Oh, that's a wolf." Um, but no. No animals that saved my life, I guess just spared me. It's the- the only instance there.”

“So not in the traditional sense, but, um, I don't know. My- my lovely cat, Tex, has definitely been the only reason for me to get out of bed multiple times in the past few months. Having something that relies on you, that gives you a purpose to get up every day definitely helps, and when you're going through really tough times. So yeah, my little darling. He may not have saved my life in the traditional sense, but he's certainly helping.”

“Man, I had- I had a dog when I was 11 or 12, and he was the best dog. I mean, man, he was awesome. He loved - You could, like, he was one of those real loyal, real steadfast dogs. He was medium-sized. But basically one day, there was somebody trying to get into our house, and I was dead asleep. You know, I'm 11, 12. I'm not really - Like, I'm playing- playing sports and all that, like, I'm playing football. I'm not trying to, like, I'm knocked out, basically. I have no energy. So, and this was, like, I won't say it was in the middle of the night, but it was getting - it was like 9 or 10 I think, and someone was trying to break into our house. And so my dog woke up, started barking, and this, like, this dog was little at the time. We had just got him, but he was- he was in that- he was in that in-between phase, but he had that grown, like, bark that you couldn't - that it sound like a big dog on the other side. So I guess the person heard that, and they ran off after that. And that is how my dog saved my life.”

“Maybe not in a literal sense , but definitely in a metaphorical sense . My first dog , my Alaskan husky DJ got me through a lot of really hard times in life through breakups through job losses . Two cities I was I had lived in with that dog. 12 years , DJ and I were together and I miss that dog every day. He was the best dog that a kid could hope for .”

“I don't know if an animal has ever saved my life from my recollection , But I know I wanted a pet cat from my whole life until I was an adult , And it was at that point in my family did finally get a cat . And even though she was only with us for a few months , she was the sweetest , most darling thing , and she might not have saved my life , but she definitely enhanced it and made it a lot sweeter .”

“Yes , it's quite possible . I have at around two or three years of age at my nan's , which is on a farm and I went missing and everyone went looking for me and found me at a dam at the farm next door with two dogs , and I was completely drenched . Absolutely wet head to toe and I was playing with the dogs throwing things in the damn now getting it and bring it back . But the story is is I think I may have fallen into the dam and the dogs had saved me because I was just completely drenched . So we may never know .”

“An animal has never saved my life in the sense that I was in peril and that an animal came in and literally snatched me from the claws of death . However , I would say that the animals that have been in my life have improved my life, they have made each day better . My relationship and love with my pets and all the animals I've had growing up greatly improved my life . So you know , I can't say for sure , But I would say Yeah , they probably saved my life .”

“Has an animal ever saved my life ? Well , I used to have this huge German shepherd when I was a little kid , and I would walk her back in the day . I feel like back in the day of things were a little bit safer , but there's definitely been a few times where she was just growl at random person . And all of sudden , I'd be like Whoa . Like what ? What is this ? But who knows ? That's one thing that I've learned if my dog doesn't trust you , I don't trust you . So who knows ? Maybe she saved my life at some point in time , and I didn't even know it . Maybe the person was sketchy .”

“Has an animal ever saved my life ? No , but I had a dog for many years to would actually wake me up in time for work . So we saved me from being late from work multiple times . How we do it is I would wake up with him sitting on top of my head and literally a couple of times I would wake up and his butt would be right on my eyeball . So , uh , Yeah , he would wake me up in time to get to work sitting on my head . Thanks , Bud .”

“Ah , no animal has ever saved my life . I have saved a bunch of animals here and there , you know . Like bringing a spider outside instead of stepping on it , or ddopting a cat , but I don't think any animals actually saved my life . Yeah .”
