QOTD #00017: “What's your absolute worst first date story?”

“So my absolute worst first date story is with my boyfriend. I went to his house to see him and hang out for the first time. We went to leave to get food, and I fell off his front porch. I fell off the porch and tried to get up like nothing happened. It happened.”

“It was a first date where we watched the movie Twister. Classic. But my date was a meteorologist, and not the fun kind of meteorologist, just there with big floral prints and having fun with the green screen. Like, the kind of meteorologist that only wanted to tell you that those twisters weren't legit. Like, I could figure that out. I don't need a science degree.”

“My worst first date was one that I did not want to happen at all, but the guy showed up to my apartment and knocked on the side of my window after I had canceled. So I awkwardly said hi through the window and went outside and got coffee with him. Never texted him again.”

“Alright. Worst first date story - Actually, it wasn't really a bad date. She wasn't a bad date herself, but, um, the story was pretty bad because we went ice skating, and I was holding both of our phones in one of my pocket sides, and I was slipping on the ice rink because I wasn't very good at ice skating. And instead of falling on the phones, I thought I would fall on my right shoulder, which got dislodged and she had to drive me to the hospital and spend a couple hours while I was in pain at the hospital. And there wasn't many dates after that, let's just say.”

“Okay, this one's really easy. The worst first date I ever had, I went to this Irish pub with this guy who I barely knew. I was 16, and the entire time for three hours he talked about why he didn't believe in evolution. And I stayed. I was so brave at 16 for staying. I stayed the entire time. I was just like, "This is the worst thing ever." So I'm sorry, Tyler. No second date.”

“The worst first date I have ever been on wasn't anything like profound or, like, ridiculously terrible, but it was just a long drawn-out dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, which usually takes a couple of hours, but there were so many awkward silences and pauses. I just couldn't find ways to fill the silence, and there was just, like, no connection.”

“Okay, so one time I was on a first date, and when I met this guy on Tinder, he kept bragging about how rich he was and how he published a book at 17 and made millions of dollars. And then when we went out, he took me to IHOP on our first date, and he asked me to go Dutch, which normally I'm fine with.”

“My worst first date story was when I went to the restaurant, but it was like the wrong restaurant, and so it was very embarrassing for a while since I waited for a long time before I realized, "Oh yeah, this is not the place I was supposed to be at." So yeah.”

“My absolute worst first date? There's many, many to choose from, but I can honestly say that there's been a lot of scary situations where I've been a little nervous. One guy freaked out on me because I wouldn't hold his hand. He almost got in a car accident because he was angry at me. Another guy demanded his money back because he took me out to dinner and I didn't want anything further. So Yeah, I've had pretty bad first dates, and some, and good ones, too.”
