Looking like a disco ball
“Um, so, we don't have school dances. But we have blue light discos and that are run by the police. So, I went to my first one when I was in year seven. It was the early nineties, and body glitter gel was a thing. So, I stayed at a girlfriend's house, and the only thing I can really remember is her and the body glitter gel. She'd caked that much onto her face. I thought she looked like a disco ball. And when we got there, she just shone like a disco ball. It was crazy. But I had a great time, and it was a good first dance.”
